Storyline:
MISSION RANIGANJ – The Great Bharat Rescue is inspired by a real-life hero, Late Jaswant Singh Gill, an engineer who led a challenging rescue mission to save trapped miners from a flooded coal mine. This edge-of-the-seat thriller highlights Gill’s courage and relentless efforts, showcasing his resilience to overcome adversities.
About Mission Raniganj – The Great Bharat Rescue Movie:
The film was initially titled “Capsule Gill” which was later changed to “The Great Indian Rescue”. After contemplating a lot of names for the last few months, the makers rebranded the film as “Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue”.
The film is based on the life of Jaswant Singh Gill who rescued 65 mine workers during the Raniganj Coalfields collapse of 1989 in West Bengal.
Principal photography for the film began in July 2022 and ended in August 2023. The film is primarily shot in the United Kingdom with a few portions shot in Raigarh, Korba, IIT Dhanbad Campus, Raniganj, and Mumbai.
Akshay Kumar’s first look was released in July 2022.
Parineeti Chopra and Akshay Kumar’s second collaboration after Kesari (2019).
The film’s poster was released on 6 September 2023. The teaser of the film was released on 7 September 2023. The film’s trailer was released on 25 September 2023.
