13 Most Anticipated Movies in June 2025

June 2025 is already set to be a thrilling month for movie buffs of all kinds with a full slate of films to entice everyone. From some sensational action thrillers and long-awaited installments of franchises to heartfelt dramas and creative animated features, there’s never been so much diversity in content in movie theaters.

There is so much to look forward to in June 2025, but some of the biggest films making their debuts are Ballerina, a stylish and thrilling spinoff of the John Wick universe starring Ana de Armas, and, F1, a gripping Formula One racing drama starring Brad Pitt. Animation fans can also look forward to Pixar’s imaginative new entry Elio. If fantasy is your thing, you can expect excitement with the live-action portrayal of How to Train Your Dragon. With all of the films slated for June, any of these potential sleeper hits might be in the running for awards, or, maybe just a thrill worthy of your dollars at this thrilling theater experience set for June 2025.

Ballerina | June 6

The highly anticipated action thriller film ‘From the World of John Wick: Ballerina’ that is the fifth film in the John Wick franchise, serving as a spin-off set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023).

It is directed by Len Wiseman and written by Shay Hatten and stars Ana de Armas in the lead role, alongside Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Norman Reedus in supporting roles. Anjelica Huston, Lance Reddick (in his final screen appearance), Ian McShane, and Keanu Reeves reprise their roles from the previous films.

Taking place between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Chapter 4, Eve Macarro, a ballerina-assassin, begins to train in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma and sets out to exact revenge for her father’s death.

Predator: Killer of Killers | June 6

Adult animated science fiction action horror anthology film directed by Dan Trachtenberg and written by Micho Robert Rutare. It is the sixth film and eighth installment overall in the Predator franchise. It voice cast areLindsay LaVanchy, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Rick Gonzalez, and Michael Biehn.

It follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a World War II pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. But while all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent — the ultimate killer of killers.


The Life of Chuck | June 6

Based on the 2020 novella of the same name by Stephen King. The film stars Tom Hiddleston, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Jacob Tremblay, and Mark Hamill.

Science fiction drama film written and directed by Mike Flanagan. The film follows a life-affirming, genre-bending story based on Stephen King’s novella about three chapters in the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz.


Echo Valley | June 6

The film is scheduled to receive a limited theatrical release in the United States on June 6, 2025; ahead of being released on Apple TV+ on June 13.

The story follows Kate Garrett works training horses on her southern Pennsylvania farm as she copes with personal tragedy. One night her daughter Claire arrives at her door covered in blood that is not hers, and Kate has to decide what she is willing to do to protect her daughter.


The Ritual | June 6

Based on a true story, it follows priests Theophilus Riesinger (Al Pacino) and Joseph Steiger (Dan Stevens) as they attempt to put aside their differences to save an allegedly possessed young woman Emma Schmidt (Abigail Cowen) through a series of dangerous exorcisms. The film is set to be released by XYZ Films on June 6, 2025.

The film is directed by David Midell and written by Midell and Enrico Natale. In July 2023, Al Pacino and Ben Foster signed on to star in the film, however, three months later that Foster had left the production, with Dan Stevens replacing him.


How to Train Your Dragon | June 13

It is a live-action remake of the 2010 animated film How to Train Your Dragon produced by DreamWorks Animation, itself loosely based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Cressida Cowell. The film stars Mason Thames, Nico Parker, Nick Frost, Julian Dennison, Gabriel Howell, Bronwyn James, Harry Trevaldwyn, Ruth Codd, Peter Serafinowicz, and Murray McArthur, with Gerard Butler reprising his role as Stoick the Vast from the animated films.

It is the first live-action production from DreamWorks Animation, as well as its first production to be a remake. The film co-produced, written for the screen, and directed by Dean DeBlois. In the film, on the rugged isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, the inventive yet overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast, defies centuries of traditional dragon-fighting practice when he befriends Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon. Their unlikely bond reveals the true nature of dragons, challenging the very foundations of Viking society.

28 Years Later | June 20

The third in the 28 Days Later film series, following 28 Days Later (2002) and 28 Weeks Later (2007), it stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes.

Post-apocalyptic horror film produced and directed by Danny Boyle, and written by Alex Garland. The film marks the returns of Boyle, Garland, and cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle to the series, all of whom worked on the original film, with Cillian Murphy also serving as executive producer.

The film follws twenty-eight years after the Rage virus escaped a medical research laboratory, survivors have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One group lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily defended causeway. When a father and his son leave the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, they discover the secrets, wonders and horrors of the outside world.


Bride Hard | June 20

Action comedy film directed by Simon West and written by Shaina Steinberg, from a story by Steinberg and CeCe Pleasants. It stars Rebel Wilson as a secret agent who serves as the maid of honor at her childhood best friend’s lavish wedding, which is taken hostage by mercenaries. The film also stars Anna Camp, Anna Chlumsky, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Gigi Zumbado, Stephen Dorff, and Justin Hartley.


F1 | June 27

Its sports drama film directed by Joseph Kosinski with a screenplay written by Ehren Kruger, from a story the two co-wrote, featuring the Formula One World Championship, created in collaboration with the FIA, its governing body. They previously worked on Top Gun: Maverick, on board in their respective roles.

The film stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a Formula One driver who raced in the 1990s, has a horrible crash, forcing him to retire from Formula One and start racing in other disciplines. A Formula One team owner and friend, Ruben, contacts Hayes and asks him to come out of retirement to mentor rookie prodigy Joshua “Noah” Pearce (Damson Idris) for the Apex Grand Prix team (APXGP). It also stars Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Javier Bardem. Additionally, all ten Formula One teams and their drivers in the 2023 season will appear as themselves.


M3GAN 2.0 | June 27

Science fiction horror film and a sequel to M3GAN (2022), written and directed by Gerard Johnstone. Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Amie Donald, and Jenna Davis return to star, alongside Ivanna Sakhno, Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, and Jemaine Clement.

The story follows two years after the events of M3GAN, Gemma has become an author and an advocate for regulation of artificial intelligence while trapping a still-active M3GAN in a small, harmless robotic doll. However, M3GAN’s technology has been stolen and used by a defense contractor to create a military robot called AMELIA (autonomous military engagement logistics and infiltration android), who becomes self-aware, turns on her creators, and attempts an AI takeover. Facing imminent destruction, Gemma’s niece Cady convinces her to rebuild M3GAN with advanced upgrades so she can fight Amelia.
