Storyline:

Abby Abernathy, a college freshman, is eager to focus on her studies and start a new social life. But her plans are quickly derailed when she meets Travis “Mad Dog” Maddox, a bad-boy brawler and campus playboy. Travis is exactly what Abby needs – and wants – to avoid. • The film is based on McGuire’s 2011 new adult novel of the same name.
• In 2012, Warner Bros. Entertainment optioned the film rights for Beautiful Disaster, but the project never went into development and the Warner Bros. option ended May 13, 2014. In 2020, it was optioned by Voltage Pictures and production began in 2021.
• The project received considerable public criticism due to Jamie McGuire’s controversial statements and far-right political viewpoints.
• Virginia Gardner previously worked with Libe Barer’s sister Ariela Barer on Marvel’s Runaways (2017).
• Beautiful Disaster was theatrically released on April 12 2023 by Voltage Pictures.
• A sequel called ‘Beautiful Wedding‘ was released in theaters on January 24, 2024.
