Storyline:

  • It will serve as the sequel to Despicable Me 3 (2017), the fourth main installment, and the sixth installment overall in the Despicable Me franchise.
  • This film marks the longest gap between Despicable Me films. The gap between Despicable Me (2010) & Despicable Me 2 (2013) was 3 years, the gap between Despicable Me 2 & Despicable Me 3 (2017) was 4 years and the gap between Despicable Me 3 & Despicable Me 4 (2024) is 7 years.
  • The development of the film began in September 2017. The film was officially confirmed in February 2022, with Chris Renaud, Patrick Delage, and Mike White set as director, co-director, and writer respectively, and a July 2024 release date announced
