About Game Changer Movie:
Game Changer is an upcoming Telugu political action thriller film directed by S. Shankar. The film stars Ram Charan in triple roles and features an ensemble cast including Kiara Advani, Srikanth, Anjali, S. J. Suryah, Jayaram, Sunil, Samuthirakani, and Nassar.
Director Karthik Subbaraj wrote the film’s original story, while Shankar penned the screenplay. Sai Madhav Burra contributed to the dialogues. The film marks director S. Shankar’s directorial debut in Telugu cinema. The project is funded by Dil Raju and Sirish under their banner, Sri Venkateswara Creations, marking their first collaboration with S. Shankar and Ram Charan.
The film was officially announced in February 2021 under the tentative title “RC15,” marking Ram Charan’s 15th film as the lead actor. The official title, “Game Changer,” was revealed in March 2023.
Ram Charan reportedly plays a dual role as both a father and a son in the film. In July 2021, Kiara Advani was announced as the lead actress, marking her second collaboration with Charan after Vinaya Vidheya Rama /(2019). In February 2022, S. J. Suryah was approached for a role and was later confirmed to be part of the film in September 2022.
Principal photography began on 22 October 2021 and is currently taking place sporadically in multiple phases. Filming locations include Hyderabad, New Zealand, Andhra Pradesh, Mumbai, and Chandigarh.
Director S. Shankar initially estimated the film’s production cost at ₹200 crore (US$25 million). However, at the producer’s request, the budget was reportedly reduced to ₹170 crore (US$21 million). With the resumption of production on Indian 2, filming Game Changer became challenging, leading to a reported budget increase to ₹240 crore (US$30 million) to complete all the schedules. The Times of India reported that nearly ₹23 crore (US$2.9 million) was spent on the song.
Game Changer is expected to be released theatrically in December 2024. The film will be released in Telugu, along with dubbed versions in Tamil and Hindi. The digital distribution rights were acquired by Amazon Prime Video, while the satellite rights were secured by Zee Telugu.
