About Movie:

My Summer Story, originally released in theaters as It Runs in the Family, is a 1994 American comedy film directed by Bob Clark. It serves as a sequel to the beloved 1983 film A Christmas Story and is based on semi-autobiographical stories by Jean Shepherd, primarily from his book In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash.

The film received mixed reviews but was appreciated for its nostalgic portrayal of childhood and family life. While it did not achieve the same iconic status as its predecessor, it remains a part of the A Christmas Story franchise.

Following My Summer Story, two additional sequels were produced: A Christmas Story 2, released straight to DVD in 2012, and A Christmas Story Christmas, which premiered on HBO Max in 2022 and features most of the original cast from the 1983 film.
