Storyline:

The film stars Ben Stiller as Larry Daley, who discovers that the exhibits at the American Museum of Natural History are being relocated to the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. When he learns that the magic of the tablet that brings the exhibits to life is fading, Larry must embark on a new adventure to rescue his friends and stop an ancient Egyptian pharaoh from taking over.

Production Details

The film was theatrically released on May 22, 2009, by 20th Century Fox. It received mixed reviews from critics but was a box office success, grossing approximately $413 million against a budget of around $150 million.

Reception

While it received mixed reviews, many praised its humor and visual effects. The film’s success led to a third installment, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, released in 2014. Additionally, an animated sequel titled Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again was released on Disney+ in 2022.
