Storyline:
Avery and Logan haven’t spoken in the 10 years since they broke up. As Christmas approaches, they discover that their new partners are siblings, and both of them have been invited to stay with the family for the holidays. Avery proposes that they keep their past a secret to avoid any awkward confrontations, but hiding the truth turns out to be more difficult than it seems–and spending time together reignites old sparks.
About Our Little Secret Movie:
Netflix announced on January 22, 2024, that Lindsay Lohan would headline Our Little Secret. Principal photography began in Atlanta and concluded in late February. The cast also includes Kristin Chenoweth, Ian Harding, Jon Rudnitsky, Chris Parnell, Tim Meadows, Dan Bucatinsky, Henry Czerny, Katie Baker, Ash Santos, Jake Brennan, and Brian Unger.
Stephen Herek directed the film, working from a screenplay by Hailey DeDominicis in her first produced writing credit. Mike Elliott and Lisa Gooding produced the project, with Joseph P. Genier serving as the executive producer. This film is part of Lohan’s two-picture deal with Netflix, signed in March 2022, and marks her third consecutive romantic comedy for the platform, following Falling for Christmas (2022) and Irish Wish (2024).
Initially titled Merry Exmas, the film was renamed at Lohan’s suggestion to avoid its association solely with Christmas. She explained, “The story is about a girl navigating a real-life situation, and it just happens to take place at Christmastime. It’s not Christmas overload.”
Our Little Secret premiered on Netflix on November 27, 2024, with simultaneous screenings at the Bay Theater in Los Angeles. It debuted at number one on Netflix’s most-watched films list and became the top-streamed title worldwide on the platform for the week of November 23–29, amassing 32.4 million views. It retained the top spot globally for the week of December 2–8.
In the U.S., the film was the most-streamed original movie for the week of November 29–December 5, with 1 billion minutes watched, topping Variety’s Streaming Originals films chart. By December 17, 2024, Our Little Secret was recognized as the most-watched holiday movie of the year by U.S. households, according to Samba TV’s smart TV data.
