Storyline:

Rambo: Last Blood is an American vigilante action film directed by Adrian Grünberg, with a screenplay co-written by Matthew Cirulnick and Sylvester Stallone, based on a story by Dan Gordon and Stallone. The film features the character John Rambo, created by David Morrell in his novel First Blood. Serving as a sequel to Rambo (2008) and the fifth installment in the Rambo franchise, Stallone reprises his iconic role as Rambo, starring alongside Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Adriana Barraza, Yvette Monreal, Genie Kim (Yenah Han), Joaquín Cosío, and Óscar Jaenada.

Plans for a fifth Rambo film surfaced on and off since 2008, with various versions being developed and later canceled. The final version was confirmed in May 2018, with Grünberg attached as director.

Principal photography began on October 2, 2018, in Bulgaria, though it had been scheduled to start earlier in September 2018 and before that, in 2014 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Barraza filmed her scenes in Tenerife, Canary Islands. The main filming wrapped on December 4, 2018, with additional photography occurring in May 2019.

Released on September 20, 2019, Rambo: Last Blood received largely negative reviews, with criticism directed at its screenplay, graphic violence, and accusations of racist and xenophobic portrayals of Mexico. However, the film’s action sequences and Stallone’s performance were praised. Despite mixed reactions, the film grossed $91.5 million worldwide against a production budget of $50 million and an additional $30 million spent on marketing and advertising.
