Storyline:
The narrative follows Aditya (Vivek Oberoi) and Suhani (Rani Mukerji), two young lovers who face opposition from their families. Despite the challenges, they decide to elope and get married. Initially, their life together is filled with joy and romance; however, their happiness is abruptly shattered by a tragic event that tests their relationship and forces them to confront the realities of love and commitment.
About Movie:
Saathiya is a Hindi romantic drama film directed by Shaad Ali and produced by Mani Ratnam and Yash Chopra under the banners of Yash Raj Films and Madras Talkies. It is a remake of the Tamil film Alaipayuthey (2000), which features a climax inspired by the English film Sliding Doors (1998). The film stars Rani Mukerji and Vivek Oberoi in lead roles, supported by Sandhya Mridul, Tanuja, Swaroop Sampat, Satish Shah, Sharat Saxena, and Kunal Kumar.
Upon its release on December 20, 2002, Saathiya received critical acclaim for its engaging screenplay, direction, and performances, particularly those of Rani Mukerji and Vivek Oberoi. The film was commercially successful, earning approximately ₹291 million (around $3.5 million) at the box office, making it the eighth highest-grossing film of the year.
