Storyline:
Author Ben Mears returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire.
About Movie:
Salem’s Lot is an American supernatural horror film based on Stephen King’s 1975 novel of the same name. This film marks the first full-length feature adaptation of the book, following two earlier miniseries versions from 1979 and 2004.
Directed by Gary Dauberman, the film stars Lewis Pullman, Makenzie Leigh, Bill Camp, Pilou Asbæk, Alfre Woodard, and William Sadler.
In April 2020, Gary Dauberman was announced as the director of Salem’s Lot. In August 2021, Lewis Pullman was cast in the lead role. Principal photography began in September 2021 in Boston, with Michael Burgess serving as the cinematographer.
Filming also took place in Ipswich and the towns of Sterling and Clinton, located in Worcester County, Massachusetts. The Princeton Public Library in Princeton, Massachusetts, was booked as a filming location for three days. Additional photography was completed in late May or early June 2022. Nathan Barr and Lisbeth Scott composed the film’s score during post-production.
Salem’s Lot premiered as the opening film at Beyond Fest on September 25, 2024, and released by Max on October 3, 2024.
