Storyline:

Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is a Telugu action thriller film written and directed by Vivek Athreya, and produced by DVV Entertainment. The film features Nani in the lead role with S. J. Suryah and Priyanka Arul Mohan in supporting roles.

The film was officially announced in October 2023 under the tentative title #Nani31, marking Nani’s 31st film as a lead actor. The official title was revealed a few days later. The film is reported to be Nani’s most expensive project, with a budget of ₹90 crore (US$11 million).

A muhurtam pooja ceremony took place on October 24, 2023, in Hyderabad, attended by the cast and crew. Principal photography began the following month, with the majority of the shooting taking place in multiple locations across Hyderabad.

The film’s first single, “Garam Garam,” was released on June 15, 2024. The second single, “Ullasam,” followed on July 13, 2024. The third single, “Sa Ri Ma Pa,” was released on August 24, 2024. The full album was made available on August 28, 2024.

Saripodhaa Sanivaaram was released on August 29, 2024, in Telugu, along with its dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, all titled Surya’s Saturday. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram earned over ₹6 crore nett in India and ₹19.75 crore worldwide on its opening day.

The film’s post-theatrical digital streaming rights were acquired by Netflix for a cost of ₹45 crore, while Zee Telugu has acquired the satellite rights. The film was premiered in Netflix on 26 September 2024.
