Storyline:

The web series is about Shaan Sengupta (Aditya Roy Kapur), a former Indian navy officer and currently working as a night manager of The White Flower resort in Bangladesh. He is hired by an Indian intelligence officer Lipika Saikia Rao (Tillotama Shome) to infiltrate the gang of arms dealer “Shelly” Rungta (Anil Kapoor) posing as an international runaway. After a dramatic set up orchestrated by Lipika, Shaan reaches Sri Lanka and gets close to Shelly by saving his son Taha, as planned by Saikia. Shaan gets close to Shelly Rungta’s gang in Sri Lanka and with directives from Saikia, Shaan succeeds in creating chaos among Shelly’s gang. After Brij Lal’s arrest at the Middle East in a set-up, Shelly offers Shaan the CEO position of the company of which Brij Pal was previously the CEO. Shan agrees to the offer. Season 1 ends on a suspense; with the trailer of season 2 expected drop in June 2023.

As the first season of the web series draws to a close, viewers are left with several unanswered questions. What will Shaan do now that he’s the CEO of the arms dealer’s company? Will he use his new power to take down the gang from within, or will he succumb to the temptation of the position? What about Lipika? Will she continue to be a part of Shaan’s mission, or will they go their separate ways? And what secrets will be revealed about the past of each character as the story unfolds in season 2? One thing’s for sure, fans of the series will be eagerly awaiting the answers to these questions and more when the second season arrives.

The Night Manager is a Hindi-language crime thriller television series created by Sandeep Modi, which serves as a remake of the British television series The Night Manager (2016) based on John Le Carre’s novel of the same name. It stars Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sobhita Dhulipala, with Tillotama Shome, Ravi Behl, and Saswata Chatterjee in supporting roles.

The series was shot in India (Shimla, Jaisalmer, Delhi, and Mumbai), Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the Middle East.

The Night Manager, part 1, premiered on Disney+ Hotstar on 16 February 2023, and part 2 was released on 29 June 2023.

At the 2023 Filmfare OTT Awards, The Night Manager received 6 nominations, including Best Drama Series, Best Actor in a Drama Series (Kapoor and Kapur), Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Chatterjee) and Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Shome).
