Storyline:
Porimol, a humble factory worker, dreams of changing his luck. After losing his job and facing mounting struggles, something mysterious happens that grants him the ability to predict the future.
About Movie:
The film was officially announced on 16 October 2023 with an announcement teaser. Principal photography commenced in February 2024, with filming taking place in Kolkata. The soundtrack and background score were composed by Indraadip Dasgupta, with the lyrics penned by Srijato. The screenplay of the film was written by Aritra Banerjee, while the dialogues were by Arnab Bhaumik, with cinematography handled by Gopi Bhagat and editing by MD Kalam.
Shastri marks the 12th film of the hit pair Mithun Chakraborty and Debashree Roy after Tiger (2007); and also the 9th film of Chakraborty and Rajatava Dutta together after Le Halua Le (2012).
It was released in theatres on 8 October 2024 on the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja, clashing with Dev starrer Tekka and Abir Chatterjee-Shiboprosad Mukherjee starrer Bohurupi.
