About Movie:
Son of Sardaar is a Hindi action comedy film directed by Ashwni Dhir. The film stars Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, and Juhi Chawla in lead roles. It is based on the 2010 Telugu film Maryada Ramanna directed by S. S. Rajamouli and was released on November 13, 2012.
Produced by Ajay Devgn under his banner Ajay Devgn FFilms, the film features music composed by Himesh Reshammiya and Sajid-Wajid, with a background score by Sandeep Chowta. The film was shot in various locations, including Punjab and London.
Upon its release, Son of Sardaar received mixed reviews from critics. While it was praised for its humor, action sequences, and performances—especially those of Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt—it faced criticism for its screenplay and lack of depth. Despite competing with Yash Raj Films’ Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Son of Sardaar performed well at the box office, grossing approximately ₹161.48 crore (around $19 million) worldwide. It was declared a hit in India and an average grosser in overseas markets.
