Storyline:

About Sulthan Movie:

Sulthan is a Tamil action thriller film written and directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan. The film stars Karthi, and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles with Ramachandra Raju, Lal, Napoleon, Abhirami, Nawab Shah, Giant Zanjeer, and Ponvannan in supporting roles.

Sulthan marks the Tamil debut of Rashmika Mandanna and Ramachandra Raju.

The film was produced by S. R. Prakash Babu and S. R. Prabhu under the banner Dream Warrior Pictures. The score was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with songs by Vivek–Mervin. Cinematography and editing were handled by Sathyan Sooryan and Ruben, respectively.

In May 2019, sources reported that the film would be titled Sulthan, although there was no official confirmation from the producers. However, in August 2019, Rashmika Mandanna accidentally revealed the title of the film without the consent of the filmmakers, which upset the team. Rashmika later apologized to the makers and the rest of the team.

The project was officially launched on March 13, 2019, at the office of Dream Warrior Pictures, with the attendance of the film’s cast and crew. Filming was completed on October 8, 2020.

Sulthan was released on April 2, 2021. The film received mixed reviews from critics. Despite being released during the COVID-19 pandemic and facing theater closures due to lockdown, it achieved average success at the box office.

The film collected around Rs 5 crores on the first day of its release. It grossed over Rs 12 crores during the first two days of its worldwide release, and 20 crore on the third.

The film began streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on 2 May 2021.
