About Supergirl Movie:
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is an upcoming action-adventure fantasy film directed by Craig Gillespie from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira. The film stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl.
The film is an adaptation of the comic book miniseries Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (2021–22) by Tom King and Bilquis Evely.
In November 2023, Ana Nogueira was hired to write the screenplay, and Milly Alcock was cast as Supergirl in January 2024, with her debut reportedly set for another DCU project, Superman (2025). Milly Alcock is the fifth actress to portray Kara Zor-El in live-action and the third in film after Sasha Calle and Helen Slater. Emilia Jones and Meg Donnelly auditioned for the role before Milly Alcock was cast.
Australian actress Milly Alcock is the second non-American actress to play Supergirl after Canadian actress Laura Vandervoort who played Supergirl in Smallville (2001). At 5′ 5, Milly Alcock is the shortest actress to play Supergirl.
Craig Gillespie entered talks to direct the film in April 2024 and was confirmed as the director the following month.
Filming is scheduled to begin in October 2024 in Atlanta.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is scheduled to be released on June 26, 2026.
