Storyline:
Manoj Kumar Sharma alias Manu is an NRI doctor living in London who comes to India to find a bride for himself and falls for Tanu at first sight but Tanu, a free-spirited girl has no plans of marrying him.

Tanu Weds Manu is a Hindi romantic comedy-drama film directed by Aanand L. Rai, and written by Himanshu Sharma. The film stars R. Madhavan, Kangana Ranaut, Jimmy Sheirgill, Eijaz Khan, Swara Bhaskar, and Deepak Dobriyal.
The film was originally announced with Konkana Sen Sharma playing the role of Tanu. However, after a period of delay, Kangana Ranaut was re-announced in the role. Sonam Kapoor was also offered the film but turned it down.
Tanu Weds Manu was released on February 25, 2011. Upon release, the film received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics, with praise directed towards its refreshing concept, screenplay, soundtrack, and performances of the cast, particularly that of Ranaut.
At the 57th Filmfare Awards, Tanu Weds Manu won the R. D. Burman Award for New Music Talent (Krsna Solo), in addition to a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Bhaskar’s performance.
The film was dubbed in German and released under the title Tanu Und Manu Trauen Sich. It was remade in Telugu as Mr. Pellikoduku (2013). A sequel, titled Tanu Weds Manu Returns was released on May 22, 2015.
Tanu Weds Manu collected ₹3.29 crore on its opening day and ₹11.23 crore over its first weekend. The film grossed ₹52.16 crore in India and ₹56 crore worldwide.
