Storyline:
Scott McCall was just another kid in high school. Until, one night his best friend Stiles brings him to the woods, to look for a dead body, and Scott is bitten by a werewolf. Being a werewolf came with its perks- stronger, faster, new star in the lacrosse team, popularity- but also made it hard to control his anger. Scott has also fallen for the new girl in town, Allison, whose dad is trying to hunt and kill Scott. Scott now has to try and balance his out of control life, figure out how to control his new powers, try not to be killed by the alpha that bit him, and protect Allison- and keep her from finding out his big secret.
About Series:
In June 2009, MTV announced plans to adapt the 1985 film Teen Wolf into a new television series, focusing more on romance, horror, and werewolf mythology. This new series does not share continuity with the original film or its sequel, Teen Wolf Too, but does reference them. Prior to this, the film had been adapted into an animated series that aired on CBS from 1986 to 1987.
Production on the first season, consisting of twelve episodes, began in October 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia. MTV released a sneak peek of the pilot’s first eight minutes on May 31, 2011. Teen Wolf premiered on June 5, 2011, following the 2011 MTV Movie Awards.
The second season premiered on June 3, 2012, after the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. On July 12, 2012, the show was renewed for a third season, which would consist of 24 episodes, with production moving to Los Angeles. The third season premiered on June 3, 2013, achieving a ratings high for the series. A fourth season followed on June 23, 2014.
On July 24, 2014, MTV renewed Teen Wolf for a fifth season of 20 episodes, which were split into two parts. The season premiered on June 29, 2015. On July 9, 2015, the series was renewed for a sixth season of 20 episodes. Showrunner Jeff Davis confirmed that Tyler Posey, Dylan O’Brien, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, and Dylan Sprayberry would reprise their roles as Scott McCall, Stiles Stilinski, Lydia Martin, Malia Tate, and Liam Dunbar, respectively.
On September 24, 2021, Paramount+ announced the production of a reunion film, Teen Wolf: The Movie, with most of the cast returning, though Dylan O’Brien, Arden Cho, and Cody Christian were not expected to reprise their roles.
