Storyline:

Amelia Sacks is about to marry into one of the wealthiest families on Nantucket. Her disapproving future mother-in-law, famous novelist Greer Garrison Winbury, has spared no expense in planning what promises to be the premiere wedding of the season — until a body turns up on the beach. As secrets come to light, the stage is set for a real-life investigation that feels plucked from the pages of one of Greer’s novels. Suddenly, everyone is a suspect.

About The Perfect Couple TV Series:

The Perfect Couple is a mystery drama television series made for Netflix starring Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning, and Eve Hewson. It is an adaptation of the 2018 novel of the same name by Elin Hilderbrand.

Jenna Lamia was announced to be adapting the book for the project in December 2019. Lamia was revealed to be serving as showrunner and Bier as director for the adaptation which was greenlit as a six-part series by Netflix in August 2022.

The series marks the first collaboration between Nicole Kidman and Susanne Bier since The Undoing (2020).

Principal photography for the film was scheduled from April to June 2023 in Massachusetts, with filming locations including Chatham, Eastward Point, Harwich, and various sites around Cape Cod. In September 2023, filming in Nantucket and Chatham was disrupted by picketing members of the SAG-AFTRA unions.

After the cast returned to set following an eight-month hiatus due to the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, director Susanne Bier proposed a flashmob-style dance sequence for the opening credits. However, the cast initially rejected the idea.

The series premiered on Netflix on September 5, 2024. The show was originally going to be at Fox.
