Storyline:
The menacing John Clive has the Indians clenched in his fist. Leading to a revolution by the righteous Azaad (Amitabh Bachchan) Captain James Powell, Clive’s second in command contracts the sly thug Firangi (Aamir Khan) to get them Azaad. As destined he finds himself amid Azaad, his rebels, and the beautiful warrior Zafira (Fatima Sana Shaikh). Will he forgo his selfish desire for the nation’s freedom?

About Thugs of Hindostan Movie:
Thugs of Hindostan is a Hindi period action-adventure film written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, and produced by Aditya Chopra under his banner Yash Raj Films. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Ronit Roy, and Lloyd Owen.
Thugs of Hindostan was produced at an estimated budget of ₹200 crore (US$29.24 million)–₹300 crore (US$43.87 million), Thugs of Hindostan is one of the most expensive Bollywood films.
Initially titled Thug.
The film marked the first time Khan and Bachchan featured together as leads, and was the second collaboration between Khan, Acharya, and Kaif, after Dhoom 3 (2013), and between Khan and Shaikh after the latter’s debut in Khan-produced Dangal.
Principal photography commenced on 5 June 2017 in Malta; the film was also shot in Thailand and Mehrangarh.
It was put on a short hiatus after Bachchan was injured on set.
Filming concluded in March 2018, with the final schedule being completed in Rajasthan.
Thugs of Hindostan was released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu in 3D, 4DX, and IMAX formats. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film was initially released in 7000 screens worldwide, including 5,000 in India and 2,000 overseas, the widest for any Hindi film. Thugs of Hindostan was released on the same Diwali week as Vijay’s film Sarkar.
In Pakistan, the film was released without any cuts, on 120 screens, which is the biggest number of screens for any release in the country. The film was distributed by IMGC, while Geo Films served as a media partner.
It received generally negative reviews from critics and audiences, with praise towards the performances of Bachchan and Khan but received criticism towards Acharya’s direction, screenplay, script, and performances of the supporting cast.
Thugs of Hindostan has grossed ₹335 crore ($45 million) at the worldwide box office, becoming the 38th highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
The film has recovered approximately ₹170 crore ($22.94 million) from satellite, digital and music rights. This includes about ₹140 crore for satellite and digital rights, with satellite rights sold to Sony Pictures Networks India and digital rights sold to Amazon Prime Video.
In November 2018, the official Hindi trailer crossed 100 million views on YouTube. It became the first Indian trailer to cross 100 million views on the site, and was YouTube’s most-watched Indian trailer of all time, up until it was surpassed by Zero’s trailer.
