Unko Sweater (also known as ऊनको स्वीटर or The Woolen Sweater) is a Nepali romantic drama film based in the multi-cultural settings of the Eastern hills of Panchthar, Nepal. The film explores the intersections of love and hope, weaving together layers of human relationships and complexities of human emotions.
The movie is directed and written by Nabin Chauhan. It stars Bipin Karki as Dharanidhar and Miruna Magar as Phool. Wilson Bikram Rai, Sunil Pokharel, Maotse Gurung, Prem Subba, Alex Paras, and Parikshya Limbu have also appeared in this film.
The first glimpse of the film was revealed on 16 July 2023. The Muhoort Pooja took place at Sadhutar in Panchthar district on 9 June 2024 (Jestha 17, 2081), with the cast and crew in attendance. Filming began on the same day and concluded on November 2, 2024 (Kartik 17, 2081), after five months of shooting.
ऊनको स्वीटर (The Woolen Sweater) was shot in various locations across the Panchthar district, including Phalgunanda Rural Municipality, Phidim Municipality, and Falelung Rural Municipality.
Produced under the banner of Artmandu Nepal, Oonko Sweater marks the production company’s debut film. The film’s music is composed by Kobid Bazra (score) and Sujan Chapagain and Jhuma Limbu (songs). Chintan Raj Bhandari handled the cinematography, while Krishna Bhandari edited the film.
The first-look poster was released on February 6, 2024. The first full version title song, Phool, was released on February 14, 2024, and became highly popular, viewed over 17 million views on YouTube. The second single, Makhamali, was released on December 26, 2024, and also garnered more than 9.7 million views on YouTube.
