Veer-Zaara, is a Hindi epic romantic drama directed and produced by the legendary Yash Chopra, with a screenplay by his son, Aditya Chopra. The film features Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta in the lead roles, portraying the titular star-crossed lovers, Veer Pratap Singh, an Indian Air Force officer, and Zaara Hayaat Khan, the daughter of a Pakistani politician. The narrative unfolds as Veer is wrongfully imprisoned, and 22 years later, a young Pakistani lawyer, Saamiya Siddiqui (played by Rani Mukerji), takes on his case.
Chopra’s return to direction after a seven-year hiatus was marked by his desire to create a film that celebrated the essence of Punjab and its culture. The soundtrack, featuring compositions by the late Madan Mohan, became the highest-selling album of the year, showcasing the timeless appeal of its music.
