Storyline:

The woman, along with her spouse and children, visits an island managed by a private corporation owned by her foreign acquaintance. The island, however, turns out to be unnervingly dangerous, prompting her to arrange an escape with her family. Unfortunately, the island is overrun by zombies, leading to the transformation of her spouse and children into zombies. Only she and her infant remain unaffected, but the child eventually succumbs to the same fate, leaving her alone. In a selfless act, she initially decides to become a zombie to be with her family but later reconsiders. She chooses instead to become a savior, aiming to rescue her family and other victims of the zombie pandemic.

Z-Mom (Also known as “អ្នកម្ដាយ Zombie”) is a Cambodian romantic horror film directed by Kou Darachan and written by Sorn Sreylin and Bun Channimol. The film stars Rern Nat and Leav Venghour in the lead roles alongside Tong Lee, Min Min, Lee Myko, Kay No, Chhin Dara, In Samphors, and John Maclaren in supporting roles.

The development of Z-Mom began following the success of Sastra Film’s previous horror-romantic film, The Dark Mother (2023). The film features a star-studded cast, including Roeun Nath, Miss Universe Cambodia 2018, and Leav Veng Hour, Mister Friendship International 2023, along with other notable celebrities.

The film was shot in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The teaser was released on June 9, 2024, and the trailer followed on August 9, 2024.

The plot of Z-Mom centers on a zombie virus outbreak on a remote island, where a mother makes the ultimate sacrifice to protect her child and family.
