About Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Movie:

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a fantasy adventure film, based on the 2000 novel of the same name by J.K. Rowling. It is the sequel to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), and the fourth installment in the Harry Potter film series.

The film was directed by Mike Newell from a screenplay by Steve Kloves. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, alongside Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as Harry’s best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger respectively.

Work on the script began in April 2003. Principal photography officially began on May 4, 2004, although shooting with the main cast did not start until June 25, 2004, at Leavesden Studios in England. Filming wrapped in March 2005.

Mike Newell received only $1 million to direct, whereas Chris Columbus received $10 million plus a percentage of the gross for directing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001).

An exclusive first look was shown on ABC during the television premiere of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on May 7, 2005. The first trailer was made available online on May 8, 2005, and the international trailer debuted online on August 23, 2005.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was released worldwide on November 18, 2005, and received positive reviews. The film was successfully run at the box office, grossing $896 million worldwide, the highest-grossing film of 2005 and the sixth-highest-grossing film in the series. The first Harry Potter film to gross over $100 million domestically in its opening weekend.

This is the first Harry Potter movie to receive a “PG-13” rating (or its international equivalent) for sequences of fantasy violence and frightening images. It is the preceding movies that were rated “PG” or equivalent.

The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Art Direction and won the BAFTA Award for Best Production Design. Goblet of Fire was the second film in the series to be released in IMAX. It was followed by Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in 2007.
