Storyline:
After the Kingsman headquarters is blown up by a psychotic criminal named Poppy Adams (Julianne Moore), the surviving agents find their way to an allied secret organization based in Kentucky, named “Statesman”. The two agencies must now work together in order to save the world and take down the so called “Golden Circle”.
About Movie:
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is a spy action comedy directed by Matthew Vaughn and co-written by Vaughn and Jane Goldman. It serves as the sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) and the second installment in the Kingsman series. The film is based on the Kingsman comic book series by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons.
The ensemble cast includes Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Sophie Cookson, Edward Holcroft, and Hanna Alström, reprising their roles from the first film, alongside new additions Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Elton John, Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges.
Filming began on May 15, 2016, in Birmingham, with additional scenes shot at Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden. Notable locations include the Skyway Monte Bianco and Pointe Helbronner in Italy for the cable car and antidote factory scenes. The initial filming wrapped on September 13, 2016, with some additional footage shot in London in December 2016.
The film premiered in London on September 18, 2017, and was released in the UK and US on September 20 and 22, respectively, by 20th Century Fox. It grossed $410 million worldwide against a $104 million budget and received mixed reviews from critics.
The Kingsman franchise continued with the prequel The King’s Man (December 22, 2021), and a crossover film, Argylle, released on February 1, 2024. A direct sequel, Kingsman: The Blue Blood, is currently in development.
