About Movie:
A Little White Lie is an American independent comedy film written and directed by Michael Maren, based on Chris Belden’s 2013 novel Shriver. The film stars Michael Shannon, Kate Hudson, Don Johnson, and Zach Braff. It follows the story of a handyman who shares the name of a famous writer and is mistakenly invited to a literary festival. Welcomed by enthusiastic fans and writers, his ruse unravels when the real Shriver arrives, exposing him as an impostor.
Production for A Little White Lie was initially scheduled to begin in 2017 but was postponed until 2020. With a new cast, filming commenced in February 2020 and was nearly complete when the COVID-19 pandemic forced a halt just one week before wrapping. Production resumed over a year later, and the film was eventually released in theaters and on video on demand on March 3, 2023.
