Bhatt is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan. Her acting debut as a child in the 1999 thriller Sangharsh, she played her first leading role in Karan Johar’s teen drama Student of the Year (2012), along with Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan.

Alia Bhatt is set to star in the highly anticipated film “Love & War” alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie marks a departure from Bhansali’s previous period dramas, featuring a contemporary love triangle that has been missing from Hindi cinema for a long time.

Bhansali expressed his excitement about working with this talented trio, stating, “It’s nice to see how their chemistry works. And [it is] a triangular love story, which has not come in Hindi cinema for a long time.” The director also mentioned that the film is set in a different period, adding, “I needed [it] very much to excite me as a filmmaker to do something new, to speak of a different period, a different set of characters and new circumstances.” Love & War is scheduled for a theatrical release during the Christmas season in 2025.


Brahmastra – Part Two: Dev

Brahmastra Part Two: Dev, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2022 hit film Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, is set to release in December 2026. The film will once again star Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, reprising their characters of Shiva and Isha.

The sequel is expected to see Shiva facing off against his estranged father, the powerful Dev, who was released from imprisonment at the end of the first film. Ranveer Singh is rumored to be playing the role of Dev, Shiva’s father, though this has not been officially confirmed.

Director Ayan Mukerji has stated that Brahmastra Part Two: Dev will delve deeper into the magical and mythological universe established in the first film, as Shiva learns to harness the power of the Brahmastra. The film is being produced on a massive scale, with an estimated budget of ₹300-400 crore.


Alpha

The seventh installment of the YRF Spy Universe, titled “Alpha,” will feature Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor in lead roles. Directed by Shiv Rawail, this will be the first female spy film in the series, with principal photography commencing in July 2024.
