About Series:
Alien: Earth is an upcoming science fiction horror TV series, written and directed by Noah Hawley, set in the Alien franchise. The series acts as a prequel to the 1979 Alien film, taking place three decades earlier. It stars Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, and Adarsh Gourav. A joint production by 20th Television and Scott Free Productions, it will debut on FX on Hulu in the U.S. and internationally on Disney+ via Star in 2025.
Production faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and principal photography began on July 19, 2023, in Thailand. Filming was briefly paused during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike but resumed in April 2024, wrapping by mid-July. Steve Annis served as the cinematographer. The series is expected to premiere in early 2025, with a teaser for Alien: Earth shown during select screenings of Alien: Romulus in August 2024.
