Kalki 2898 AD Release Trailer: Amitabh Bachchan Fights Prabhas to Protect Deepika Padukone

As the release of Nag Ashwin’s “Kalki 2898 AD” approaches on June 27, the film’s team has unveiled a final trailer. This new preview confirms what many speculated: Deepika Padukone’s character is pregnant with Kalki. Amitabh Bachchan’s character reveals this by saying, “God resides in your womb,” before he confronts Prabhas’ character and anyone who threatens her and her unborn child. Additionally, Kamal Haasan’s character reflects on humanity’s unchanging nature despite numerous opportunities for transformation, appearing as a sage in the film. The trailer also showcases Prabhas in a new robotic suit, poised to take on the world for his bounty.

Recently, the team hosted a pre-release event in Mumbai, with Rana Daggubati as the host. Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan all attended, adding to the excitement. Deepika dazzled in a black dress and humorously attributed her “pregnant” look to Prabhas feeding her. Amitabh Bachchan had a touching moment where he expressed his admiration for producer Aswini Dutt by touching his feet.

At the event, a video featuring Nag Ashwin explained the world of “Kalki 2898 AD,” which is divided into Kasi, Complex, and Shambala. Nag described a dystopian setting where the Ganga is dry, and people struggle to survive. Complex, a mega city, is rich in resources and entices the people of Kasi, only to exploit them. Shambala, likened to Shangri La, is a mystical refuge for rebels fighting against the Complex.

“Kalki 2898 AD” is Nag Ashwin’s third film after “Yevade Subramanyam” and “Mahanati.” Prabhas stars as Bhairava, a bounty hunter, with Keerthy Suresh voicing his AI droid sidekick, BU-JZ-1. Amitabh Bachchan plays Aswatthama, who seeks to protect the Kalki avatar, while Deepika Padukone portrays Sumati (SUM-80), a pregnant woman on the run. Kamal Haasan takes on the role of the antagonist, the Supreme Yaskin.
