Storyline:

The film is about six groups of sisters Jaya, Shashi, Sadhana, Charu, and twins Ketaki and Pallavi, each dealing with their own set of problems. After retirement, Shashi decides to take part in a Mangalgauri competition and convinces her sisters to join her. But all of them are dealing with their personal issues and being middle-aged feel Managalagauri is impossible for them. Finally, all of them agreed to be part of the competition and start practicing at their old house Karde Niwas where they spent their childhood thou facing problems with differences and age issues they made it to the competition. But on the day of the competition, Sadhna does not turn up due to her strict father-in-law, the sisters manage to get her to the venue but upon reaching they find that the competition is over and they have been knocked out. The same night the sisters try to drink for the first time and perform Pinga late at night at a railway station their video goes viral and they get wild card entry into the competition

About Baipan Bhari Deva Movie:

  • The film was originally titled Mangalagaur. Co-producer Ajit Bhure suggested Kedar Shinde to change the film title to ‘Baipan Bhaari Deva’. When Kedar Shinde decided to change the title from Magalagaur to Baipan Bhari Deva none of the lead cast was impressed with it. But actress Vandan Gupte gave him go go-ahead. After the film’s release, the title song became a chartbuster.
  • Principal photography was started before Lockdown in India, but the shooting was stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Maharashtra. According to Kedar Shinde, 80% shooting of the film was completed before the lockdown. Post-production was completed after the lockdown.
  • On 8 March 2023, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar took to his social media accounts and shared the poster of the film. The film’s teaser was released on 28 April 2023 and the trailer was launched on 13 June 2023.
  • Suchitra Bandekar’s son Soham plays her son in the film, whose character is also called Soham. He can only be seen in the film in video footage.
  • Initially, the film was set to be released on 28 May 2021, it was pushed to 28 January 2022 and then to 6 January 2023. Finally, Baipan Bhari Deva was released in theatres on 30 June 2023 PVR Pictures.
  • Baipan Bhari Deva grossed over ₹90.5 crore in 50 days of theatrical run globally, emerged as a sleeper hit, the biggest Marathi weekend opener, and became the second highest-grossing Marathi film of all time and highest-grossing Marathi film of 2023.
  • This film also created a new record of the highest one-day collection of more than ₹6.10 crores for the Marathi film industry.
  • It is the highest-grossing female-centric film in the Marathi film industry. Being made with a budget of ₹5 crore, the film is a critical as well as commercial success, praised for its writing, story, songs, and direction.
