Nikhita Thapa ( Nepali: निखिता थापा ) is a Nepalese playback singer and songwriter. She sings in Hindi, English, and Sanskrit along with Nepali. In 2016, Nikhita won several awards such as Tuborg Image Award (2016) for Best Vocal, Best Album, and Best Female Singer Duet, and Bindabasini Music Award (2016) for Best Female Singer Duet.

Nikhita’s Rang, Tilili, Jhari, Ma Ta Timro, Sirsirey, Hera Ti, Mayale Bolayeko, and the Nepali movie song Udaayo Hawale are the most remarkable songs.

Nikhita Thapa Early Life and Education:

Nikhita Thapa was born on February 3, 1993, in Kurseong, India. Although she was born in Kurseong, his father (Bhuwanesh Thapa) was a colonel in the Indian Army and she had to go with him as soon as her father’s job was transferred.

Nikhita was brilliant at studying from an early age. She completes her schooling at a local school in Kurseong, India, and graduates in commerce at H.R. College of Commerce and Economics College in Mumbai, India.

Nikhita Thapa Career:

Born and raised in India, Nikhita started to sing at a very tender age. Her father was a very talented instrumentalist so there was a musical atmosphere in the family. That’s why she got to know about music from an early age. Her parents and other family members always encourage and support her to get involved in music.

Right from childhood, she was very enthusiastic about anything music, from nursery rhymes to school prayers. Her first stage performance was at the tender age of 3 ½ yrs at her school’s annual function. At that time she sang ‘Nursery Rhyme’.

She considers her father her musical inspiration and her first guru and her mother (Nilima Thapa) her idol and somebody she always looked up to for strength, resilience, and courage. she started learning from her guru Pt. Johri at a very young age in Meerut, UP. Due to her father’s compulsory posting, she had to leave Meerut.

After their family shifted base to Mumbai, where she pursued both music and academics side by side. She completed her seven years of formal training and graduate in commerce. She pursued her vocal training from Bhatkhande Sangeet Shikshapeeth as well as Mrs Bhavna Dixit and Pt. Dhruba Ghosh in Mumbai.

While visiting her relatives in Kathmandu, Nepal, she had the opportunity to sing the song ‘Jati Chan’ from the Nepali film ‘3 Lovers’ with lyrics by Kishore Thapa and music by Rajan Ishan.

After the success of the Nepali movie song, ‘Jati Chan’ Nepali lyricist Dinesh Adhikari suggest her to release an album. After a full one and a half years of immense hard work by the entire team, she released an album called “NIKHITA” in which all the seven songs were written by lyricist Dinesh Adhikari.
