Storyline:
Recent college grad Jaime Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab. When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Super Hero BLUE BEETLE.

- Blue Beetle is an American superhero sci-fiction action adventure film directed by Ángel Manuel Soto and written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer. The film stars Xolo Maridueña as Reyes alongside Adriana Barraza, Damián Alcázar, Raoul Max Trujillo, Susan Sarandon, and George Lopez.
- It is intended to be the first installment in the DC Universe (DCU).
- Principal photography began on May 25, 2022, taking place in the Atlanta metropolitan area, primarily at Wilder Studios in Decatur, Georgia. Filming also occurred in El Paso and Puerto Rico.
- Filming ended on July 18 in Puerto Rico.
- The film was originally set to be released on HBO Max but it was later changed for theaters.
