Storyline:
The film follows Cécile a young woman spending the summer in a villa in the south of France with her widowed father Raymond and his latest love interest, Elsa. Theirs is a lived-in compatibility a world of ease and languor.

Bonjour Tristesse is based on the 1954 novel of the same name by Françoise Sagan. Durga Chew-Bose adapted and directed the film, marking her feature-length directorial debut.
Principal photography for Bonjour Tristesse began in Cassis, located in the South of France, in May 2023.
The film premiered in the Discovery program at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival on September 5, 2024.
