Storyline:

Scientist Samar Sen (Jeet), inventor of the “Virtual Mobile” is a scientist of high intellect and mettle. With meticulous precision, he created an andro-humanoid robot “Nisha”, very identical to his wife Isha (Rukmini Maitra). Yet this breakthrough became a boomerang for him and created a confusion. The story evolves around the theme of comedy of errors through whimsical slapstick comedy and unpredictable events.

About Boomerang Movie:

Boomerang is an Indian Bengali-language science-fiction action comedy film directed by Sauvik Kundu. Produced by Jeet under the banner of Jeetz Filmworks and Grassroot Entertainment, the film stars Jeet, Rukmini Maitra, and Sourav Das in the lead roles. Ambarish Bhattacharya, Kharaj Mukherjee, and Rajatava Dutta play other pivotal roles.

The film was announced by Jeet via his Twitter handle on 30 November 2022 on the occasion of his birthday. The film’s first look was unveiled on the occasion of Eid on 11 April 2024. The poster sparked anticipation among the fans, especially with the pairing of Jeet and Rukmini Maitra on screen for the first time.

The production of Boomerang marked a significant technological milestone in the Bengali film industry by introducing Cine-Bot technology for the first time. Additionally, the film features a custom-designed futuristic superbike, which is crucial to the narrative and showcases advanced technology unprecedented in Tollywood.

Unique promotional strategies were employed for “Boomerang” to match its futuristic sci-fi theme. On April 13, Rukmini Maitra announced on Instagram that her Facebook profile had been hacked, with Jeet offering help, later revealed as part of the film’s promotion. On May 22, a bald look of Rukmini was released, causing surprise among netizens.

The film’s teaser was released on April 14, the second poster on May 20, and the trailer premiered on May 24 at an event at Star Theatre in North Kolkata.

Initially set to release on 10 May 2024, the film’s release was postponed to 7 June 2024 due to the concurrent 2024 Lok Sabha elections scheduled in May.
