- Principal photography began in Montana in October 2021.
- In September 2021, it was announced that Saban Films had acquired North American, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Scandinavia distribution rights to the film.
- This is Nicolas Cage’s Western film since The Old Way (2023).
- Tye Sheridan and Alex Wolff were considered for the role of Will as they worked with Nicolas Cage before but director Gable Polsky wanted a younger actor.
- It is the second collaboration between Gabe Polsky and Nicolas Cage as Polsky produced Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans (2009). This is also the 5th collaboration between Nicolas Cage and Xander Berkeley.
