About Coyote vs. Acme Movie:
Coyote vs. Acme is an American live-action/animated legal comedy film directed by Dave Green and written by Samy Burch, based on a story by Burch, James Gunn and Jeremy Slater. The film is based on the 1990 magazine article of the same name published in The New Yorker by Ian Frazier, which involves the character Wile E. Coyote and the Acme Corporation from the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons. The cast includes John Cena, Will Forte, Lana Condor, P.J. Byrne, and the voice of Eric Bauza.
Principal photography commenced on April 1, 2022. Filming took place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as it is an iconic setting referenced in numerous Looney Tunes cartoons. Filming wrapped on May 28, 2022.
This is the first animated Looney Tunes Film to be in 3D, RealD 3D, and IMAX 3D.
The movie was originally going to be a CG/live-action hybrid with Steve Carell rumored to be the Acme CEO.
The first theatrical appearance of Wile E. Coyote since the Annecy International Animation Film Festival’s Looney Tunes short Flash in the Pain (2014).
The film was originally scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on July 21, 2023, by Warner Bros. Pictures. On April 26, 2022, it was taken off the release schedule with Barbie taking over its original release date. However, the film is looking for an alternative release date. Coyote vs. Acme is expected to be released in the United States in 2024.
