When the real murderer is apprehended, Vic’s claims are interpreted by the community as dark jokes.

About Movie:

Deep Water is a erotic psychological thriller directed by Adrian Lyne, marking his return to filmmaking after a 20-year hiatus since Unfaithful (2002). The film, based on Patricia Highsmith’s 1957 novel, stars Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas, with supporting performances from Tracy Letts, Lil Rel Howery, Dash Mihok, Finn Wittrock, Kristen Connolly, and Jacob Elordi.

Development of the project began in 2013, with Adrian Lyne set to direct and Fox 2000 Pictures financing. In 2018, Fox 2000 sold the rights to New Regency, and by August 2019, Affleck and de Armas were cast. Tracy Letts and Rachel Blanchard joined the ensemble in October 2019.

Principal photography took place in New Orleans, starting November 4, 2019, with several new cast members, including Mihok, Howery, Elordi, Connolly, and Wittrock. Michael Braun was added to the cast in December 2019.

Originally slated for release on November 13, 2020, Deep Water faced multiple delays, first to August 2021, then January 2022. Ultimately, it bypassed a theatrical release and premiered on Hulu in the U.S. and on Amazon Prime Video internationally on March 18, 2022. Despite the delays, the film’s release drew attention due to its high-profile cast and Lyne’s return to the thriller genre.

According to Samba TV, 826,000 U.S. households watched Deep Water during its first weekend on Hulu. According to the streaming aggregator Reelgood, Deep Water was the 4th most streamed movie across all platforms, during the week of March 23, 2022, the 4th during the week of March 27, 2022, and the 6th during the week of April 7, 2022.
