Storyline:
A family is attacked by demons and only two members survive – Tanjiro and his sister Nezuko, who is turning into a demon slowly. Tanjiro sets out to become a demon slayer to avenge his family and cure his sister.
About Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba TV Series:
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (鬼滅の刃, Kimetsu no Yaiba, rgh. “Blade of Demon Destruction”) is a Japanese anime television series produced by Ufotable, based on the manga series of the same name by Koyoharu Gotouge. It follows teenage Tanjiro Kamado, who strives to become a Demon Slayer after his family was slaughtered and his younger sister, Nezuko, is turned into a demon.
The series premiered on April 2019, having aired on Tokyo MX and other networks (first season only), and is currently airing on Fuji TV (second season onwards). In North America, it is licensed by Aniplex of America, and streams on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Funimation. The English dub of the series aired on Adult Swim’s Toonami programming block in the United States.
A sequel film set after the events of the first season, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, was released in October 2020 while the compilation films, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Swordsmith Village and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training, were respectively released in February 2023 and February 2024.
The series received critical acclaim for its storyline, animation, action sequences, characters, and voice acting (original and dubbed), as well as numerous awards, and is considered one of the best anime of the 2010s.
