Storyline:
8 years after Rakesh Mahadkar reigned terror on Mumbai, another serial killer has taken birth. More brutal and more dangerous but one that uses the same cover, the Smiley Mask. Ek Villain Returns is the story of two men in one-sided love. The paths they choose to fulfill their love stories decide who the Hero is and who is the Villain.

About Ek Villain Returns Movie:
It is a sequel to his 2014 film Ek Villain, which was also directed by Mohit Suri.
Initially, Aditya Roy Kapur was signed for the role portrayed by Arjun Kapoor, but later backed out due to creative differences with director Mohit Suri. Then, Kartik Aaryan was approached but he could not accept the offer due to date clashes with his Dhamaka (2021)
John Abraham, Tara Sutaria’s first and Disha Patani & Arjun Kapoor’s second collaboration with Mohit Suri Respectively.
Principal photography began on March 1, 2021, and wrapped up on March 24, 2022.
Just like the first part lead female actress made her singing debut in this film as well. In the first part, it was Shraddha Kapoor making her singing debut with song “Galliyan” and in the second part it was Tara Sutaria with the songs “Shaamat” and “Galliyan Returns”. Coincidently both these debuts were with the same male singer Ankit Tiwari.
Arjun Kapoor’s character was inspired by Amitabh Bachchan’s character in Jurmana.
Ek Villain Returns was released theatrically on July 29, 2022, to mixed reviews from critics and became a box office bomb.
Ek Villain Returns earned ₹7.05 crores at the domestic box office on its opening day. On the second day, the film collected ₹7.47 crore. On the third day, the film collected ₹9.02 crore, taking a total domestic weekend collection to ₹23.54 crore.
As of 18 August 2022, the film grossed ₹49.63 crore (US$6.2 million) in India and ₹19.01 crore (US$2.4 million) overseas, for a worldwide gross collection of ₹68.64 crore (US$8.6 million).
