About Fly Me to the Moon Movie:
Fly Me to the Moon is an American romantic comedy-drama film starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum in the lead roles. Directed by Greg Berlanti and written by Rose Gilroy, it is produced by Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Lia, Keenan Flynn, and Sarah Schechter.
In March 2022, Apple Studios acquired rights for a $100 million Space Race movie, initially titled Project Artemis, with Jason Bateman directing. Bateman exited in June over creative differences and was replaced by Greg Berlanti, marking his first directing project since Love, Simon (2018).
Chris Evans was originally cast to reunite with Scarlett Johansson but ended up dropping out due to scheduling conflicts and was replaced by Channing Tatum. This is the second project announced in 2022 originally starring Evans and Johansson that fell apart after Ghosted (2023), in which Johansson dropped out of that project and Evans stayed on.
This is the third film starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum together, but they did not share the screen in Don Jon (2013) and Hail, Caesar! (2016).
Filming began on October 27, 2022, in Atlanta, with a casting call issued seeking extras to play NASA employees and FBI agents. In April 2024, Daniel Pemberton was confirmed to be composing the score for the film.
Fly Me to the Moon was released theatrically in the United States by Columbia Pictures through Sony Pictures Releasing on July 12, 2024, before streaming on Apple TV+ at a later date.
