What is Indian Premier League (IPL)?

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in India. It was founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007 and is contested by eight teams representing different cities in India. BCCI will announce the 16th season of India’s popular IPL group details by January 23. Last IPL season, all ten teams were divided into two groups. The Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Kings were in Group A. On the other side, the Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, and Gujarat Titans were in Group B.
