About Iraivan Movie:

The title Iraivan was revealed on 10 September 2022, during Jayam Ravi’s birthday.

Principal photography for the film began in March 2022 with the first schedule in Chennai. Nayanthara wrapped up shooting her portions by 14 August, while the whole shooting wrapped up by 1 November.

Nayanthara received a payment of ₹10 crores for her role.

The film’s music and background score is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja in his second collaboration with I. Ahmed after Vaamanan (2009) and fifth with Jayam Ravi after Daas (2005).

The film’s first look poster was released on 16 January 2023, coinciding with Pongal. The trailer was released on 3 September 2023.

The film received an A certificate for its violent content. It is Jayam Ravi’s first film to receive this rating since Ameerin Aadhi-Bhagavan

The streaming platform, Netflix, acquired the digital rights for the film while the satellite rights were sold to Kalaignar TV.

It was initially scheduled for a theatrical release on 25 August 2023, but this was altered to 28 September 2023.

Iraivan was released on 28 September 2023 and opened with mixed to positive reviews from critics, praising Ravi’s performance, Yuvan’s background score, and action sequences, but criticism towards the soundtrack, narration, violence, and romantic scenes.
