About Movie:

It Chapter Two is an American supernatural horror film directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Gary Dauberman. Serving as the sequel to It (2017), it completes the two-part adaptation of Stephen King’s 1986 novel It.

The film stars Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, Andy Bean, and Bill Skarsgård, who reprises his role as Pennywise the Dancing Clown. Returning from the first film are Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, and Jack Dylan Grazer, among others.

Talks of a sequel began early, with producer Roy Lee confirming in February 2016 that It was envisioned as two films. By July 2017, Muschietti announced plans to begin production in spring 2018, explaining that the second film would focus on the Losers’ Club as adults, 27 years after the events of the first film, with flashbacks to their childhood in 1989.

With a budget of $79 million, principal photography began on June 19, 2018, at Pinewood Toronto Studios. Key locations included the sewer system set, constructed at Pinewood, and several real-world sites in and around Port Hope, Ontario, which stood in for the fictional town of Derry, Maine.

Additional scenes were filmed at Cranfield House, a 1902 mansion in Toronto, as well as homes in Oshawa and Pickering. The exterior of Pennywise’s house was built and later burned in Oshawa. Filming wrapped in early November 2018 after 86 days.

It Chapter Two premiered at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles on August 26, 2019, and was released in U.S. theaters on September 6 by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film received mixed reviews, with praise for its performances, particularly those of Hader and Skarsgård, as well as its production design and themes. However, critics pointed to its lengthy runtime, pacing, and scares, which were viewed less favorably compared to the first film.

Despite these critiques, It Chapter Two was a box office success, grossing $473.1 million globally against its $79 million budget, although it fell short of the $701.8 million earned by its predecessor.
