Storyline:
The story revolves around two brothers Sanjaylal and Ratanlal Sharma who live in Dehradun. While Ratanlal is a devoted student and hard worker, Sanjaylal is a lazy prankster, always getting into trouble. In an unexpected turn of events, Ratanlal loses the cycle race due to the intense rivalry among the three colleges. Sanjaylal now wows to win the award and his brother’s honor back!

Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar is a Hindi romantic comedy-drama film, directed and co-written by Mansoor Khan and starring Aamir Khan, Ayesha Jhulka, Deepak Tijori, Pooja Bedi, Mamik Singh, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. It was inspired by the 1979 American film Breaking Away.
The film was shot predominantly in various locations in the south of India, primarily Kodaikanal.
According to reports, Akshay Kumar auditioned for Deepak Tijori’s role and was rejected. Juhi Chawla was approached for the film. She declined because Nasir Hussein wanted immediate dates and she could not oblige.
Amole Gupte, who is known for co-directing and producing Taare Zameen Par (2007) had played a race announcer in the film.
Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar was released in theatres on May 22, 1992, by Eros Worldwide.
In India, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar net ₹40 crores and grossed ₹52 crores (US$2.01 million). The film opened to good responses and was declared a hit at the box office. It was also broadcast on Disney Channel India.
The film won two Filmfare Awards, including Best Film. It was remade in Telugu in 1999 as Thammudu which in turn was remade in multiple languages. The movie has gained a huge cult following over the years and has often been cited as one of the best coming-of-age movies in Indian cinema.
