The melodious praises for Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies have been resonating among viewers since its Netflix debut on April 26. This captivating film, featuring newcomers Pratibha Ratna, Sparsh Shrivastav, and Nitanshi Goel, revolves around an intriguing incident of two brides inadvertently exchanging places during a train journey. With its wide OTT release, fans have been expressing their delight on various platforms.

The film was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on 8 September 2023, and was theatrically released on 1 March 2024.

Set in the fictional state of Nirmal Pradesh in 2001, Laapataa Ladies unfolds the story of two brides who inadvertently exchange places during a train journey. While one is taken home by the other’s groom, the other is left stranded at a railway station. A police officer, Kishan (Ravi Kishan), takes it upon himself to investigate the case. Laapataa Ladies is presented by Jio Studios and produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Kiran Rao’s Kindling Productions.
