Poor Things is an upcoming American science fiction romance film, based on the 1992 novel of the same name by Alasdair Gray. The film is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos from a screenplay by Tony McNamara. It stars Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo, Ramy Youssef, Jerrod Carmichael, Christopher Abbott, Margaret Qualley, and Kathryn Hunter.
The film is produced by Element Pictures, Fruit Tree, and Film4 Productions. Filming began in August 2021 in Hungary. Poor Things is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 8, 2023, by Searchlight Pictures.
