Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is an American computer-animated comedy adventure film that is a direct/stand-alone sequel to Puss in Boots (2011), a spin-off of the Shrek franchise and the sixth installment thereof.
Produced by DreamWorks Animation, the film is directed by Joel Crawford and co-directed by Januel Mercado from a screenplay by Paul Fisher and Tommy Swerdlow, based on a story by Swerdlow and the first film’s writer Tom Wheeler, with additional screenplay material provided by Etan Cohen.
It stars the voices of Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek who reprise their roles as Puss in Boots and Kitty Softpaws, respectively, alongside Olivia Colman, Harvey Guillén, Samson Kayo, Wagner Moura, Anthony Mendez, John Mulaney, and Florence Pugh.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish was theatrically released in the United States on December 21, 2022, by Universal Pictures. The film received generally positive reviews from critics. It was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at the 80th Golden Globe Awards.
