Shehzada

Shehzada (transl. Prince) is a Hindi action drama film directed by Rohit Dhawan and written by Trivikram Srinivas (Original Story & Screenplay) and Rohit Dhawan (Adapted Screenplay). It is produced by T-Series Films, Haarika & Hassine Creations, Geetha Arts, and Brat Films. Based on the Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020).

The film stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead role alongside Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Ronit Roy, and Sachin Khedekar. Initially scheduled for theatrical release on 10 February 2023, Shehzada was released a week later on 17 February, due to the success of Pathaan.

• • Shehzada is a remake of the 2020 Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.

• • The film was announced on 12 October 2021.

• • Principal photography began on the next day i.e. 13 October 2021 Mumbai. The next schedule took place in Delhi. After many sequences were shot in Mauritius, filming wrapped up on 10 January 2023.

• • Initially, the film was scheduled for theatrical release on 4 November 2022 but was delayed due to production.

• • Paresh Rawal and Ronit Roy are reuniting after 29 years of long gap after Laqsya (1994).
  • Initially scheduled for theatrical release on 10 February 2023, Shehzada was released a week later on 17 February 2023, due to the success of Pathaan.

• • The digital streaming rights of the film are acquired by Netflix for Rs. 40 crores. On the platform, the film was premiered on 14 April 2023.

• • The film recovered 76% of its ₹ 85-crore budget before it’s release.

• • Shehzada is Kartik Aaryan’s debut movie as a producer.
