Storyline:

In 1598, the seven-year Imjin War nears an end as Wae invaders prepare to withdraw from Joseon. Admiral Yi Sun-shin leads an allied fleet of Joseon and Ming ships to annihilate the Wae army. Joseon, Ming, and Wae forces clash at Noryang Strait, the deadly sea where Admiral Yi fights his last valiant battle.

About Noryang: Deadly Sea Movie:

Noryang: Deadly Sea (노량: 죽음의 바다) is a South Korean historical action war film directed by Kim Han-min and produced by Kim Joo-kyung and Lee Dae-hee. It is a sequel to the 2022 film Hansan: Rising Dragon and the third and final installment in the Yi Sun-sin trilogy.

The film stars an ensemble cast led by Kim Yoon-seok as the Korean naval commander Yi Sun-sin. Other cast members include Baek Yoon-sik, Jung Jae-young, Huh Joon-ho, Kim Seong-gyu, Lee Kyu-hyung, and Lee Moo-saeng.

In 2013, while producing The Admiral: Roaring Currents, Big Stone Pictures revealed plans to make two more films related to Yi Sun-sin, titled Appearance of Hansan Dragon and Noryang Sea of Death as sequels, depending on the success of The Admiral. Following the box office success of The Admiral, which became the most-watched and highest-grossing film of all time in South Korea, production of the sequels was confirmed.

Principal photography of the film began on January 14, 2021, and was completed on June 15, 2021. The launch poster was released on September 19, 2023, and the title logo was changed to be more sophisticated than the logo poster.

Noryang: Sea of Death was released theatrically on December 20, 2023. Outside of South Korea, it premiered in the United States on December 22, 2023, and in Australia and New Zealand on January 4, 2024.
